‘B’ is for Baby Registry…

This past week was just the start of what is yet to come in the next couple of months!  John and I had a busy week and weekend which sometimes does not give us a chance to stop and think about how fast this pregnancy is going.  One thing I was looking forward to with knowing the gender of our baby was registering.  We were now able to pick out things for a boy rather than keeping everything neutral because of not knowing the gender and of course with me being a planner it is that much easier.  We registered at Wal-Mart and Target because they both have the biggest selection of baby things.  John and I had a lot of fun conversing while scanning and asking do you want the alligator one or the puppy, blue or green, etc.  One thing we did agree on is that in the beginning we will not have a theme for our little boy only because we want him to decide what he likes as he grows.  The nursery is just a neutral color with blue, yellow and dark brown vinyl dots.  They can be removed at anytime and the room can be repainted and decorated to what ever he likes down the road.
Either way, John and I enjoyed our day off together and had a fun time with picking and choosing what we feel/think he will like.  This is once again one day closer to meeting our little guy.

Time is flying...

Looking back in October the phrase was always, “Once we get past the first appointment time will be flying by.”  Wow are those words to quote at this point…I can not believe how fast everything is moving along.  Just a couple of months ago I was chatting with my friend and checking in on her because she was due on February 2nd.  Now a week later, she had her baby boy on Tuesday and we went and met him on Wednesday.  It was so amazing getting to meet him and knowing that in less than 4 months we will be meeting our little guy.  Is there anything I would change at this point?  My response is no because I feel that I have been keeping up on almost everything (weekly pictures, reading week the 'What to Expect when You’re Expecting book', my pregnancy journal, etc).  What I am concerned about is after the arrival and keeping up on everything and not missing those important things in our child’s life. There are so many little lists I have going in my mind but know once he is here all that will matter is our family and the time and cuddling we will have.  We can worry about that stuff down the road but for now our focus is just making sure that the remaining 18 weeks are very calm and breathtaking just like they have been so far.
